No, unfortunately it is not possible.  The Disto A6 on Flexijet is firmly attached to it and cannot be replaced.

These devices were developed for the building material in the outside section and are not applicable for the interior. Their handling is very complicated and for a "not measurer" very often incomprehensible. The devices are predominantly equipped with the functions for construction measurement and lay out; therefore they lack many functions for a comfortable interior measurement. 

Many of these devices can only measure downwards with low limits. When standing on the stair top, the steps, those are close to the top, cannot not be measured because of the limited downwards pivoting angle. They also lack of a jolt sensor that notifies an accidental jolt on the device as well as the leveling or the contact-free activation of the measurement. In many cases the motor function is lacking. All of the motor based functions of Flexijet cannot be performed on such devices. (Projection of CAD points, automatic series of measurement, 3D scanning, remote control, level transfer etc.)

There are no special requirements for the laptop. A conventional laptop with Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista is adequate. A 10 inch Netbook or a Tablet PC is also applicable. The USB-Bluetooth-Adapter is also included in the delivery.

We consider a PDA as unhandy since the monitor is too small and there is no keyboard. When measuring you also make comments and remarks to the elements of the drawing. Writing of texts, comments, and data entering of coordinate etc. on a PDA is very exhausting and time-consuming since they have no proper keyboard. Furthermore the monitor of a PDA is very small. In measurements, on which often zoomed or 3D display of the whole measurement is necessary, one can very quickly lose count of it. Because of the small monitor, many functions are within reach via many clicks. In addition, you can install your laptop your own programs. With PDA it is not possible as a general rule. According to the requirements, you can configure laptop and select by yourself. If you are predominantly active in the outside section, there are also water- and dustproof Tablet PCs available.

No, the office version and the version for the laptop are fully identical. Therefore you can complete a potential refinishing work at home or in the office. The basic delivery of Flexijet includes 2 versions of FlexiCAD; with a small extra charge you can purchase other FlexiCAD versions.

Flexijet has in internal battery with a longevity of approx. 8-10 hours. The battery life decreases slightly when the Motors are frequently used. As long as you run Flexijet by battery you don't have no cables around it. If the battery life decreases (will be shown on FlexiCAD) you can attach your Flexijet on power. In this case the internal battery gets recharged and as you continue working on power. You optionally can attach an external battery on your Flexijet as well.
   

Construction site is a brisk workplace. Electricians working in the basement, drywaller upstairs. Since it may happen that somebody accidentally bump the tripod, the shock sensor detects slightest vibrations and signals immediately to the laptop to avoid an inaccurate or erroneous measurement. Flexijet can yet be adjusted on already measured points, so that the measurement can be continued.

Yes, this is also a major advantage of Flexijet. Most measurement points are aimed manually, since this method is much faster and easier than moving the device with the joystick towards each measurement point. Since you don't measure over the corners but over 2 points of the surface (eg wall or stairs) near the corners, you don't need no joystick. For the measurement of a staircase you need eg 2 points on each riser and the peak point. Even complex stairs, concrete cores or rooms are measured in seconds.The remote control, you only need to accurately sighting of points, such as by relocating.
