You can look forward to an update to FlexiCAD version 4, which offers you extended functions, numerous improvements, and new interfaces for data transfer. The transition to FlexiCAD4 is seamless and intuitive so your familiar workflows remain unchanged while adding new capabilities.
You will also benefit from a firmware update for Flexijet 3D “Next Generation” and an updated Flexijet Smart Remote app.
For many functions, this new firmware update offers you illustrated help directly on Flexijet 3D’s touchscreen, making it even easier to measure.

New features and improvements in FlexiCAD4
> New export for 3D DWG and IFC
With FlexiCAD4, it’s now possible to export surfaces and solids with depth information as well as subtraction solids in a revised 3D DWG output and also via IFC. This is especially helpful for users exporting from FlexiCAD4 to BIM.
The new settings can be selected via the new 3D DWG export dialog:
Various settings for the depth information of the room measurement elements can now be defined under ‘Object thickness’.
The IFC export dialog options are similar to those of the 3D DWG export.
> New FlexiCAD interface design
The most obvious new feature is the redesigned color user interface in FlexiCAD4, which now offers a higher-contrast working environment, helping to improve orientation and providing a modern overall impression.
> Improved function buttons
Function buttons with a submenu are now split when hovering over them with the mouse pointer. This makes it even easier to see that additional options and commands are available.
> New “3D view” tab in the main menu
The new 3D view gives you an interactive preview of your model in various visualization styles. This allows you to check whether all details are displayed correctly before exporting.
In addition to the basic elements such as walls, ceilings, stairs, etc., you can also hide room elements. Click on “Show room elements” to open a window in which you can select which objects are to be hidden.
> 3D objects from a closed polyline
It is now possible to convert closed contours into 3D objects. Simply select a closed polyline and define an object height and object type in properties.
> 3D object type “subtraction solids”
Closed polylines can now be used in any shape as a substraction solid.
> New XML export for INTREKON staircase software
Transfer of the CAD measurement drawing with labeled objects and including all included photos directly in INTREKON.
> New 3D DWG export for MegaCAD metal construction software
Transfer of the CAD measurement drawing, separated in the existing layers and including all photos directly in MegaCAD.
> New XML export for HiCAD metal construction software

The corresponding interface for HiCAD is offered by HiCAD sales, the export from FlexiCAD is free of charge for you as a customer with a service contract.

Export of rooms with basic elements as .ORDX format to Cabinet Vision.
> New function “Manual room from layout”
In contrast to “Room from Layout”, the corners of the floor plan must be selected manually with this function.
Flexijet 3D “Next Generation” Improvements
> Context-related info screens for many functions
FlexiCAD4 now displays helpful graphics for a large number of functions, making it easier for you to recognize where the next point in the function sequence should be measured. This makes even rarely used functions simpler to use!
> Flexijet 3D on-screen ‘Fine drive control‘
Do you know the challenge of attempting to aim very precisely at an edge at 40 meters, but every small movement on the measuring device results in several centimeters of laser point movement?
We have included a very practical function of ‘Fine Drive Control’ with FlexiCAD4.
To start the fine adjustment mode, select a drawing command and then press and hold the scroll wheel on the measuring head for approx. 3 seconds.
> “Flexijet Livestream” can now control Flexijet 3D’s on-screen functions
Thanks to the new functions in Flexijet Livestream, we can also provide significantly better support for complex measurements with on-screen camera view and and remote control of the measuring device’s touchscreen.
Simply switch between Camera and Screen view in“Flexijet Livestream” and control Flexijet 3D’s touchscreen using the mouse.
When opening “Flexijet Livestream”, the option to keep the “Application window always on top” is now selected by default, allowing the focus to remain on the FlexiCAD4 window for seamless use of the remote control.
> Optimization of the laser module’s energy consumption
Flexijet 3D’s laser module is now automatically switched off when inactive to increase battery performance and longevity. The time until switch-off can be adjusted in “General Preferences”. The laser is automatically turned back on as soon as the Flexijet registers any activity (e.g. movement in an axis).
> Flexijet <-> PC connection now possible via network cable
There are some unique situations where Wifi cannot be used. For this reason, we now offer the option of connecting from PC to Flexijet 3D using a network cable instead of Wifi. A USB to LAN adapter is required for this. If you want to use the connection between Flexijet and PC via network cable, please contact our support team.
> Horizontal plane with Z-value input
When creating a new horizontal plane and using the “Measure floor plan” command, you now have the option of entering a height value.
> Polyline function selection on the Flexijet display
With the “Polyline” drawing command, you can now switch between several functions directly on the display.
- Polyline as a straight line
- Polyline as an arc, and tangential arc
Improvements to Flexijet Smart Remote App
> Commands and Project Explorer now on Flexijet Smart Remote
A major request was for expanded functionality of the popular Flexijet Smart Remote app. We listened, and we’re delighted that drawing commands and the Project Explorer can now also be selected directly via the app.
This makes the Flexijet Smart Remote App an indispensable tool!
